Shortcuts in the online world can be very costly.

I’ve been a fan of Faceless YouTube channels and their earning potential for sometime now.

If you’re not familiar with what Faceless channels are, they are those YouTube channels without a primary face or personality. An example of this would be your motivational channels, top 10 video channels, etc.

I started one such channel at the start of the year 2021 and sought to have the channel monetized as fast as possible so I could start earning from it.

The YouTube channel monetization requirement is 1000 subscribers and 4000 watch hours within the last 12 months.

There were two options to achieving this:

  1. Posting content consistently and regularly.
  2. Paying for subs and watch hours.

If you love things done quickly, like me, you probably chose option 2 as well.

Within 14 days, YouTube invited me to the YouTube partner program. My channel was monetized.

Now here’s why you should never go for option 2, that is, never buy subs or watch hours.
