Humans can suffer from decision fatigue as a result of making too many decisions during the day.

I can understand this, the average number of decisions an individual makes a day is 35,000. One of the ways we can reduce our chances of getting decision fatigue is by wearing the same thing consistently or if I may simply call it a “uniform.”

No wonder Steve Jobs built such a successful entity. And even better, he’s one of many successful people to have this figured out.

Barack Obama is on the same boat. The only time he changed his decision about his wardrobe was when he wore the tan suit that he was heavily criticized for which rendered his decision useless.

Mark Zuckerberg has been spotted on many occasions in one t-shirt.

I’m about to jump on board. My wardrobe should be the least of my worries at this point so as to maximize my decision making power. Barack Obama once said in an interview with Vanity fair,

“you need to focus your decision making energy. You need to routinize yourself. You can’t be going through the day distracted by trivia.”

In other words Steve Jobs’ choice of the black turtleneck did increase his productivity.
